5 Healthy Habits in cold and flu season

1. Keep your distance – avoid close contact with people who are sick. And if you are sick keep your distance from others to protect them. You need to spend plenty of time in bed resting. A day off of work may save you, and your co-workers that you may infect.

2. Cover up – this seems easy, but how many people do not practice it. Always cover your mouth and nose with tissue when coughing or sneezing. If you do not have a tissue, cover your mouth and nose completely with your hands and then wash them immediately. If a tissue is not available cough into your sleeve, just do not allow the germs to be inhaled by others around you.

3. Stay clean – Wash your hands frequently to minimize the chances that someone or something you’ve touched will get you sick. If soap and water are not available use alcohol based hand sanitizer. Just think how many people don’t wash their hands after contacting items around them.

4. Hands off – germs are spread frequently by touching something that is contaminated with germs and then touching their eyes, nose or mouth. If you are a hands-on type of person keep in mind that you need to wash your hands frequently especially in public places, eventually someone else’s germs will become yours.

5. Chiropractor – get your regular adjustments to keep your immune and nervous system functioning optimally to fight off the germs.
